Actually I don't think we have 100% freedom in democracy. It's just like a king's rule in a term. And it's a pretty much the same. If you talk bad about the king you are jailed similarly if you talk bad or even tweet anything about our prime minister we are jailed or we have to face consequences by their supporters.
A real freedom will encourage open criticism from the citizens. And there should be a way to bring down the leader from the throne if he failed to accomplish his goals or in today's senerio destroyed the whole country's economy.
How is democracy is based on people's opinions when you have only the 50% of power. The government officials and public servants never look at their job how it should be.
A real life incident happened before 2 days, A police checking was held at a signal. My friend was driving they stopped us we produced all the documents properly. Yet he was about to raise a fine for not producing proper documents because my friend had a digital copy of his insurance. It turned into a argument. After a long agreement and proving him he was not convinced and finally his senior walked on us. He left has out of pity by saying carry everything properly. Btw he had all the proper documents.
I will claim democracy is a real freedom if I get a chance to do something against this.
